Dr Fran Smith

team_03 Dr Fran Smith is a Counselling Psychologist and has over 10 years of experience in the field. She is a therapist, trainer, researcher, lecturer, supervisor and author. She has worked in a variety of NHS and private settings in both clinical and teaching capacities. She has worked with individuals (adults, older adults, adolescents and children), couples, and families and has facilitated group work. In all areas of her work Fran takes care to provide a collaborative and compassionate space that is focussed specifically on the needs of her client(s). Fran is an advocate of dynamic and time limited therapy and is happy to work flexibly around the time constraints of her clients, providing online sessions as well as appointments in person.

Fran has trained and worked therapeutically using a variety of therapeutic models however she tends to draw most from Cognitive Behavioural, Compassion Focussed and Acceptance and Commitment therapy models. Fran is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, the British Psychological Society and the Association for Contextual and Behavioural Science. In addition to her work with a range of clients presenting with a broad variety of presenting problems Fran specialises in working with people adjusting to living with acute and chronic health problems.
