Dr Peter Scragg
Peter is currently employed by as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in the NHS (Central and North West London Foundation Trust) to provide expert advice, supervision and training in cognitive behavioural therapy for qualified clinical psychologists. He also holds the post of Lecturer in Psychology at University College London where he teaches and provides supervision on the doctorial clinical psychology programme. His main areas of teaching include anxiety disorders, psychological assessment, and cognitive behavioural therapy. He has published sixteen scientific papers many of which were concerned with psychological assessment and cognitive behavioural therapy. Peter also has particular expertise in the assessment of personality. He is trained and skilled in the use of psychometric tests both in clinical situations and in personnel selection. As part of Peter's comprehensive psychologist assessment of individuals, he regularly employees psychometric measures to ensure accurate and consistent treatment. He has more than 10 years of experience in the field of traumatic stress and 7 years of experience in forensic psychology (Broadmoor Hospital). Following the July 7th London bombings in London, Peter managed the NHS screening programme for bomb victims. This highly-acclaimed programme sought to ensure that all those individuals who had developed psychological problems as a result of their exposure to the bombings received evidence-based psychological treatment. Peter holds a BSc (Psychology) from University College London (1986) and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from University of Surrey (1995). He also has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis from University College London. |
